Trump: "Patience with Putin is running out"; Russia: "Europe is obstructing negotiations"

NEWS

U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 12th that he is reaching the end of his patience with Russian President Vladimir Putin during an interview with Fox News, but refrained from threatening sanctions over the Ukraine war.

When asked if he was running out of patience with Putin, Trump replied, "Yes, I'm reaching the end of my patience. And it's reaching the end of my patience fast." While acknowledging his long-standing and good relationship with Putin, he expressed frustration over the failure to end the war.

He added, "We have to take a very strong stance." He cited tariffs, as well as sanctions on banks and oil, as options, and said European countries would need to join in. "Remember, this is less an American issue and more a European issue," he said.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin announced on the same day that peace talks between Russia and Ukraine had been temporarily suspended. While Russia remains positive, it accused European countries of obstructing the process.
